Aiskrim Goreng

  • Ice cream - Shape, either you want to make it round or square, etc. Any flavour will do, but mango & strawberry will be ummpphhh!
  • Egg white - lightly beaten.
  • Bread crumb - prepare in a plate.
  • Oil - for fry

What i did was..shaped the ice cream, then i kept in the freezer, to make them 'steady' heeehehee. When it ready, dip the ice cream into egg white, then coated it with bread crumbs. Repeat this as many time you like. The more you repeat...the thicker the skin will be.

You can immeadiately fry them in heated oil (very) for 20-30 seconds. But i normally individually wrap it with cling wrap, and keep it in the freezer. (I normally make a lot!). So you can always have this fried ice-cream whenever you like it. Can be served as fast-dessert as well when you having 'tetamu mengejut'. Just heat oil, fry and enjoy it with your love one!

Ikan Masak Rendang

Sessi menghabiskan daun kunyit, sebelum dia gone. Sayang nanti kalau dia layu camtu jer musim2 macam ni.

This dish, mum always cook with ikan tongkol, but we hardly get it here (or maybe none at all, tak penah jumpa pun ikan tongkol)..i had it with tuna. Same taste right..? Or..mackarel will do too!

  • Fish - boil a little while with tamarind slice and salt. Then deep fry in heated oil. Set aside.
  • In little oil, fry little bit pounded garlic, pounded onion (lot of onion will be nicer..) till fragrant. Add chilli powder. Add water if to dry.
  • Cook a little while.
  • Add tamarind juice (not to much) and salt.
  • Throw-in finely slice tumeric leaves.
  • Throw-in fried fish. Stir. Done.

Telur Masak Lemak

Duck eggs, chilli, coconut milk, tumeric, fresh tumeric leaves.

Fried Banana/ Sweet Potato Batter

Let's do some experiment..3 different batters..they are all crunchy & nice. Look at their ''kerak".. producing different outcome..choose whatever you like..

with extra rice flour...
3 tsb rice flour, 1 tsb plain flour, 1 tsb corn flour, little bit lime paste (kapur makan), tumeric powder, plain water: make 175-185ml batter. Mix well, dip banana/sweet potat and deep fry.

3 tsb plain flour, 1 tsb rice flour, 1 tsb corn flour, tumeric powder, little bit lime paste, little bit eno, plain water: make 175-185ml batter. Mix well and immediately dip banana/sweet potato, and deep fry.
same as the one in the middle, but keep it for 5-10 minutes after mixing. 'Kerak' become thicker..
note: some people said..it will be nice to add some egg and coconut milk in it..i'll try one fine day..

Apam Mekar

  • 250 gm sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 200 ml fresh milk
  • 300 gm plain flour
  • 1 tsp ovallate
  • Food coloring
  • Paper cup
  1. Beat sugar & eggs - pluffy.
  2. Add vanilla essence, ovallete - keep beating.
  3. Add flour and milk, alternately.
  4. Devide into 2-3 potion and color accordingly. Spoon into paper cup (hold it with apam mould).
  5. Steam for 10-15 minutes. (Stemer must be heated earlier).

Tuna Cannelloni

Cannelloni Tube
  • 1 and 1/2 cup bechamel sauce
  • 185gm canned tuna
  • 200 gm ricotta cheese
  • Sufficient mozarella cheese
  • 10 - 12 canneloni tubes
  • pepper
  • dried parsley & dried oregano


  1. Make filling - mix tuna & ricotta cheese. Sprinkle some parsley and oregano - to taste.
  2. Prepare caserole - spread think layer of bechamel sauce into caserole.
  3. Spoon filling into cannelloni tube and arrange it into caserole. Repeat till finish.
  4. Pour the remaining bechamel sauce over the tube, drizzle with mozarella cheese. Bake in heated 180 celcius oven, till set.

Kek Lumut

2nd trial buat, baru le turn out elok. I took recipe from Dayang's blog, our Kek Sarawak Specialist :D. Thanks Dayang!

  • 500gm butter
  • 1 and 1/2 cup sugar
  • Essence vanila
  • 10 eggs
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 can condensed milk
  • 1 cup horlicks
  • 1 cup kaya spread
  • 1 cup nestum
  • Food Coloring (green) - we need this a lot!
  1. Beat butter and sugar till creamy.
  2. Eggs & vanilla - beat.
  3. Condensed milk & kaya spread- beat.
  4. Plain flour, nestum & horlicks.
  5. Color.
  6. Grease pan, baking sheet, pour batter into pan. Cover with plastik and tie. (i covered with aluminium foil)
  7. Steam - 4 hours.
Ini akibat kalau derhaka. Tak cover dengan plastik/ aluminium foil. Even dah wrap penutup kukus dengan kain (to avoid air jatuh) kek still pecah).

Prawn Tempura With Breadcrumb

I remember i've posted tempura recipe before, but this time, i coated them with some breadcrumb.

Chicken Sesame Oil?

When i was sooooo lazy....i mixed everything in a wok! hahahhaaa

  1. Chicken - clean & cut into bite size, then half-cooked fry.
  2. Onion: Slice, ginger & garlic : finely chopped - fry in little bit oil
  3. Add soya sauce and sesame oil, i like the pragrant so i put a lot :D
  4. Throw-in half-cooked chicken, followed by carrot. Cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Throw-in brocolli & mushroom, let them cook for a while.
  6. Remove from stove, and serve.

Figs Yogurt

  • Dried figs - Soak overnite, clean it and blend to make puree.
  • Mix figs puree with plain yogurt.
  • Top yogurt with fresh figs.
  • yummmm!

Kuih Cara

Pandan & Durian Flavour. Basic recipe from Kak Jun (Myresipi).
  • 100gm plain flour
  • 200ml coconut milk/ fresh milk
  • 1 biji telur
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar for filling
  • Pandan essence/ durian essence
  • Food coloring (if necessary) - green / yellow
  1. Except sugar - Combine all ingredients. Mix well. Use blender to make it easier.
  2. Flavour/ color accordingly. It's your choice.
  3. Heat mould. Spray/grease with oil.
  4. Pour batter into mould.
  5. Half way cook, add 1/2 tsp sugar in the middle.
  6. Let it cook.

Air Limau

Ingredients: (For 2 glasses)
  • 2-3 Limau Kasturi - apa ehh org panggil ni in english
  • 2-3 Asam boy/ asam kecut - pun tak tahuu apa tahh nama benda ni in english
  • Gula
  • Air panas
  • Air sejuk
  • Ice


  1. Asam - Rendam dalam air panas sampai air jadi suam
  2. Limau - Buang Biji, blend dengan air sejuk and tapis.
  3. Campurkan air limau and air asam.
  4. Letak gula secukup rasa.
  5. Letak ice.

Kek Chiffon Keladi

Yam Chiffon Cake, recipe from here.

Ingredients A:-
  • 6 eggs yolk
  • 150 gm sugar
  • 100 ml coconut milk
  • 100 ml corn oil
  • 70 ml water
  • 225 g plain flour*
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder* (sifted)
  • 1 tsp yam essence
  • 1/2 camca food colouring (purple)
  • Salt

Ingredients B:-

  • 6 eggs white
  • 135 g sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar


  1. Using a whisk, mix well all ingredients A. Set aside.
  2. Meringue ingrediants B (in separate bowl)
  3. Combine A & B.
  4. Pour into chiffon cake tin (26 cm). Do not grease the cake tin, just line with baking sheet.
  5. Bake in preheated oven (175 c) for 30-35 minutes.

Rendang Daging

  • Beef (sliced or cubed) - get it ready in a pan
  • Onion, garlic, ginger, galangal, lemongass, tumeric- pound & throw-in together with the beef. Add-in chili powder and curry powder. Heat stove and simmer to tender, pour water in the middle if needed.
  • Pour coconut cream, later on add kerisik. Keep simmering. Let it thoroughly cook and dry.
  • Ooopppss..i forgot to mention about my tumeric leave. Finely slice and throw into the rendang in the middle of cooking. The smell and taste will be lovely!

Karipap Pusing

Sorry Kak Ezza for keeping you waiting for sooo long. Dah buat inti ke belum ngan kentang tuuu?? hehehe Ok.. i'll write recipe for the dough, as for the filling, i will leave it to everyone with your own choices..
I dont have the exact measurement. Quantity of the flour is depending on how many karipap you would like to have to. To have the spiral, we need 2 different type of dough, i.e the one with butter and another one without butter. For the butter dough, just mix 50gm butter for every 100gm of plain flour. Below is the recipe for 200gm flour, which yielding approximately 24 karipaps.
  • Dough A (butter dough) - 200 gm plain flour, 100gm butter softened. mix well. Add just little bit water to form a dough. set aside.
  • Dough B (without butter) - 220 gm plain flour, little bit salt, pour sufficient water - just to form a dough.
  • Make 12 small ball for dough A. Do the same for dough B.
  • Roll one of the dough B and wrap dough A into it. (as in the pictures). Just follow the steps . Hope it is helps. Repeat till finish all balls.

Apam Balik

Resepi from Almari Resipi.

Pancake batter

  • 2 cups self raising flour
    1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp soda bikarbonate soda
  • Food colouring - yelloe
  • 1 egg
  • 1 and 1/2 cup fresh milk
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

**Beat egg and sugar till pluffy. Add in the remaining ingredients. Set aside for 1 hour.**


  • Sugar
  • Butter
  • Peanuts - toated and pounded/blended
  • Cream corn

Prepare pancake

  • Heat-up non-stick skillet. Pour half cup batter into it & spread, regardless on how big is your skillet. Larger skillet might need more, but remember...not to thick pleaase.. :)
  • Half-way cooked, sprinkle with filling. Let if thoroughly cooked and remove from skillet. Fold in ito half.
