We had an opportunity to experience the strawberry picking while we were in Melbourne. Not exactly in Melbourne, it's about 100km from Melbourne city in a place called Sunny Ridge Farm, near to Mornington Penisular.

According to the peoples who working in that farm, strawberry turns great and juicy in hot weather..yes it is, they taste lovely indeed! But hot weather on that day didnt allow me to stay longer in the strawberry terrace area. I dare not!! It was 41 degree at that time..so we just quickly get in, and went out in not even half an hour time..hehhehe

With $8 per adult entry, visitors are allowed to eat as much as they want. They are allowed to pack home those strawbery as well with ammount not more than 0.5kg per entry. Thus, we managed to pluged 1kg of strawberries, and thats to much for both of us... hehhehhee therefore i came out with strawberry muffin for today's breakfast, and we'll have strawberry smoothie for tomorrow morning, perhaps :D

Strawberry Muffin
  • 2 eggs
  • half cup of sugar
  • 7-8 medium size strawberry (or more, if you like)
  • 3 tsb fresh milk
  • 2 tsb butter
  • 1 cup of self raising flour
  1. Beat egg and sugar till you get the fluffy batter
  2. Melt butter in warmed fresh milk, and pour into the egg batter
  3. Add in flour
  4. Mash or blend the strawberry and stir into the batter. Combine well
  5. Spoon batter into the prepared mould or muffin cup and bake under 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Done!
